Core Beliefs
Cross Pointe of Texarkana has five core beliefs that govern everything that is taught at our church. Basing these core beliefs on the trust we place in the validity and the authority of the Holy Scriptures, we believe that . . .
God is the eternal originator of all things. He has a purpose and a design for every created thing, and all that exists is subject to His authority. As the Creator, He has a profound, parental love for His creation.
The Holy Spirit is the spiritual manifestation of God given into the lives of humanity to guide each of them into the righteous life God desires.
Sin is the willful act of rejecting the authority of God. Every person is guilty of sin and every person has fallen short of God’s just expectations. The consequence of sin is hostility with God.
Heaven is the dwelling place of God and it has been prepared to receive all who believe in the propitiating death of Jesus and in His hope-giving resurrection. It is a place of everlasting worship in response to our Creator and our Redeemer.
Jesus is the exhaustively prophesied human manifestation of God sent to rescue humanity from its fallen condition. His sacrificial propitiating death has forgiven us of our sin and given us peace with God; and His resurrection has given us the hope of reconciliation with God.
*Beyond these core beliefs, Cross Pointe sincerely affirms the beliefs espoused in The Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
